Ojibway Forest Lore

This show focuses on the beauty of the wild Canadian landscape.  The work is primarily from British Columbia in the rainforest and on the coast, and NWT/Nunavut focusing on the barren lands of the Thelon Wildlife Sanctuary.

While a lot of coastal shots emerge from the B.C. series, the NWT/Nunavut series explores an area of Canada few have seen.  It is a place where rivers and lakes remain unnamed and wildlife roam free without fear of man.  The barren lands are a part of the Precambrian shield and remain isolated by over 400 km from the nearest road or settlement.  Although it may have the name barren lands, it is anything but barren as it is full of flora and fauna.  This remote place does embody the spirit – of the land, the wildlife, and the stars.

Some of the photographs are interpreted and painted by Elizabeth Russ.
